If you've been hanging out here, you'll know that I'm into Office 2.0, Enterprise 2.0, Social Computing, Web Services, SaaS etc etc. Some of those terms overlap and I'm sure there are others I've not thought of.
Anyway, the point is that there's a conference and workshops called Office 2.0 in San Francisco on October 12 and 13 11 and 12 (changed 23 Aug). If I lived in the Bay Area, I'd be there like a shot. As it is I have to rustle up the wherewithal. I aim to be there if at all possible, because a bunch of people who are right in the thick of this stuff are going to be there, presenting and/or participating.
Extract from official blurb:
"The first Office 2.0 Conference is organized by IT|Redux and brings together Office 2.0 companies, early adopters, investors, industry analysts, and journalists. The goal is to collectively build the foundation for Office 2.0. The event will address strategies for sparking its mainstream adoption, as well as identify applications and target markets for future solutions. Most importantly, it will be an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and network with an elite group of visionaries and industry leaders."
