Office 2.0 - nice report by David Terrar

David Terrar and I met in person for the first time at Heathrow Airport en route for the Office 2.0 Conference in San Francisco. We had already "met" many times online, through our blogs, instant messaging, discussion groups and telephone so, when we did meet, there was none of the "getting to know you" and trust-building adjustment. We were there already. We are also part of the Enterprise Irregulars group which contributed ideas to the conference organiser, Ismael Chang Ghalimi.

We spent a fair amount of time together, inside and outside the conference, including a post-conference debrief where we shared our thoughts on the entire exercise. I then set off on a series of meetings which kept me offline until now (around 6:30 am on Saturday). David got up at 2:00 and started hammering his thoughts into his blog. They are a good reflection of the conference.

So good, in fact, that I recommend you read them if you're interested in the future of software delivered as a service to the browser in companies large and small. It's not just one of those "isn't it great" blog posts, it points out the dangers as well as the opportunities.

More from me when I get some time. I'm off to the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival in a couple of hours. One has to get one's priorities right.

Cheers David - your words are much appreciated. I suspect heading off to Half Moon Bay with a good friend was significantly more sensible than me tapping away in my hotel room because I couldn't sleep!
