I've mentioned the bill(s) trundling through Congress at the moment in various places, including this blog. There's a tussle going on between the telcos/cable cos (operators) and the internet community. There's a lot of misleading information out there, so I decided to write an article on the subject even as the lower and upper houses were debating the issue. Because it was for a print magazine (Information World Review), it has taken its time to appear. Now, if you're interested in how our world could change, you can read the online version too.
If you're in America or are concerned that they'll misstep, you may find the Save the Internet blog worth a visit.
UPDATE: 17 July 2006 I recommend you read an interview dubbed "How 'Saving The Net' May Kill It'. In it, he Register's Andrew Orlowski interviews network engineer Richard Bennett.
