Hosted WordPress
After the rush to self-host WordPress, I discovered that it runs a hosted service similar to TypePad. (I'm sure both companies will disagree with the 'similar'.)
http://wordpress.com - a heck of a lot easier than DIY.

The biggest difference for me is that you can map your TypePad blog to your own domain. You cannot do that (yet) with wordpress.com
Not a show-stopper for many people, sure, but if you want to switch hosts and take your own domain name with you it's not so great.
