The blog is a neuron

Looking at the set of brain pictures from IBM, courtesy of C|Net, I realised something I should have realised months ago. Blogs mirror the neural connections in the brain. They receive signals (inbound links) and send signals (outbound links).

I am indebted to Adriana Cronin-Lukas for the link. (Sorry Adriana - I must've been asleep when I originally typed your name as Cronin-Lucas.)

How about us humans ourselves? Do we not mirror neurons in the way we interact in social networks? Maybe bloggers are more akin to peptides, that act throughout the brain and body, as both neurotransmitters and hormones, while non-bloggers are more like hormones, acting slower.

Maybe I'm stretching the metaphor a bit far..

Erm , if you say so. (Desperately wracking brain for dim memories of peptides and hormones. Giving up, sorry.) Thanks for the thought though.

Poor Adriana - she ought to just change the spelling of her surname to "Lucas"...(Sorry, couldn't resist commenting on that, as it's about the tenth time this week that someone's spelt it that way. It's bordering on the comic, now. I think I'll start spelling it like that, too. ;-))
