A sense of perspective

My recent postings on control and tricks may have given the impression that it's a horrible world out there and everyone's out to get you. Well, that's not the situation at all. In fact, I prefaced the recent Tricks posting with the words: "People who think you are too slick or off topic will try to jellify your brains..". But, if you're delivering good focused content, why the heck should anyone give you a hard time?

I just wanted you to be reassured. You still need to be on your guard, of course. Sometimes the interviewer's agenda is not your agenda and hard work might be required to get them to accept a different angle from you. In the end, you have the right to say "Well, I'm clearly wasting your time. Shall we call it a day?" They will then either give you an opportunity to say your piece or agree to go your separate ways.

Remember the person doing the interview will be reluctant to come away completely empty-handed.
