David's principal role in life is to oversee Freeform Dynamics’ training, coaching and other personal development consulting activities. In addition, he works as an industry analyst specialising in the human and environmental aspects of IT, with a particular interest in areas such as personal productivity, collaboration, social computing and sustainable computing.
Writer
David writes about the business application of software, especially that which supports collaboration, cooperation and personal productivity. He has also created a large number of briefing documents, many around the topic of sustainable development.
He writes and blogs for Information World Review, a magazine aimed at information professionals. He also blogs for Small Business Blog and writes for other titles, as time and inclination allow.
Trainer
David coaches teams and individuals in how to plan for meeting the press and venture capitalists.
BrainStorm
David designed and wrote a personal information management tool called BrainStorm in 1981. It still sells today. Marck Pearlstone is the programmer these days.
Background
In previous lives, he was an IT professional for 11 years (programmer to IT manager), a management skills trainer for three years, he relaunched and edited Personal Computer World in its early days and was shortlisted eight times for national writing awards. He won three times. He was technical director of Caxton Software from 1981 to 1984.
